WEDDING TIMELINE
A handy guide for when it is best to get things by is to try and keep your wedding experience as calm and smoothly run as possible. Please note this is for reference purposes only and as such should be followed as a guide, at your own discretion.
12 Months
Start putting together a theme board, gather your ideas. Think about your guest list (this will help with a table plan). Consider
setting a date.

11 Months
Finalise your theme, order and mail out Save the Date cards (for weddings that are abroad or over public holidays). Book Main Venue.

10 Months
Order Engagement Party Invitations. Book Engagement Venue. Think about quirky ways to ask your bridesmaids and groomsmen to be a part of your wedding.

9 Months
Consider wording or a poem that will appear on your Invitations; for a Wedding
gift list, donation page for your chosen charity or money towards a honeymoon. Look at styles of gowns/suits you like and make appointments to visit Bridal/hire stores for fittings.

8 Months
Consider design of the Table Plan ready for insertion of the names once you have RSVP returned. Mail out Save the Date cards. Interview and research photographers. Enjoy engagement party.

​7 Months
Order Wedding Invitations and any inserts e.g. Accommodation, Directions, Reception, Map, RSVP and return envelope. Honeymoon, honeymoon, honeymoon,
research and potentially book your dream destination.

6 Months
Ensure you have all your guests most up to date contact and address details. Order
bridesmaids/groomsmen outfits. If travelling abroad ensure passports are in date.

3-5 Months
Mail out Invitations. Pick out wedding rings/bands and accessories.

2-3 Months
Start considering seating plan arrangement. Collate Responses and RSVP. Enjoy a
Bridal/Groom party. Consider and write your vows.

2-3 Months
Order menu cards and Order of Service. Order Wedding cake. Hire wedding transportation. Consider music for the reception and book for venues.

2 Months
Order Table Plan, Table Numbers, Blank Place
Names. Chase up those who have not responded. Apply for a marriage licence. Final dress/suit fitting. Contact all vendors and check everything is on schedule.

1 Month
Purchase gifts for parents
bridal party and each other. Collect dresses and suits.
