What not to do (and yes all of these have happened to me).
It's wedding fair season. And here are the top tips when attending.
Don't say you don't like the items on show and that you think it's ugly then laugh in a person's face. You don't have to like everything or anything, but be respectful, suppliers put a lot of time and effort into their work.
Don't take pictures and say you'll rip off the designs and do it yourself. If you like our styles work with us, we spend a lot of time honing our skills, completing new courses and always levelling up.
Don't pull a couple away because it's not your style, it's not your day. Let them look and come to their own decision. Items on display are only a snippet of what we can do.
Accidents happen, we understand this, but if you do knock over someone's display, don't pretend it wasn't you, when you were the only one around. Just help to pick it up.
You can decline a leaflet if it's offered, or just simply not take one. But don't ask for a leaflet to walk away screw it up and drop it straight away. That's just plain rude and a little insulting.
Don't put down your empty prosecco glass on top of someone's portfolio, if you need to use both hands to fill out your name on an enquiry form, ask someone with you to hold it or ask the supplier.
If you've just eaten a cake sample or canapé please don't touch items on display, sticky fingers (or worse just licked fingers) leave marks and it's off putting for the next person to see and then potentially pick up afterwards.
We understand you might bump into people you know and decide to catch up on drunken escapades, but please do not do this in front of someone's table to prevent others from gaining access to look and chat to a supplier.
And lastly to fellow suppliers, please don't poach people from another stand because yours is empty. There is plenty of time, space and opportunity to allow couples to speak to everyone. At their own pace.
