There is something so romantic about getting married on the beach. Even better when that particular beach holds some special memories for you both.
"My Grandparents have lived in Cornwall for 20 years so we've spent many a long weekend exploring the beaches and little towns. We wanted a relaxed day and with Cornwall being so beautiful it was the obvious choice. We stayed in Porthtowan whilst looking for a venue and The Blue Bar was the first and only one we saw...Darren just wasn't interested in anywhere else! "
Bee and Darren first contacted me in 2018 to create a summery style wedding invitation for their beach wedding. Bee liked one of my ready made designs 'Henry' but wanted to put her own twist on it.
So I took away the fairy lights and swapped it for bunting and changed the navy background to a rustic kraft finish with white and cream text. On the reverse I created a postcard style, with email RSVP details and an area to handwrite the addresses of her guests and eliminate the need for envelopes.
As the wedding drew nearer Bee and Darren began to think about a topper for their cake and asked me to create something fun for them.
They decided on a pair of Flamingos with their necks looped to create a love heart shape and their names cut out of the bodies. They opted for coral to match with summery colours of the flowers they had ordered from Croppers in Bloom.
I must say it all looked incredible together as one piece. The fresh flowers were brought down by one of the guests the night before and Bee's friend Lucy put it altogether on top of a Waitrose naked cake. Adorned with fresh fruit and a sprinkle of icing sugar just finished it off perfectly.
The sun setting at the beach provided the perfect backdrop for those magical moments to be captured on film (or digital as it is these days).
After contacting Bee about using some of these wonderful images for this blog post, she then asked me to create a thank you note card, in keeping with the invitation design but including three of their most favourite images (although picking just three wasn't too easy as Bee and Darren had LOTS of favourite images).
I kept the design on the back similar to the invitations so that Bee and Darren could handwrite a personalised thank you to each of their guests and fill out the addresses, add a stamp and pop it in the postbox.
It has been such fun creating something for such a relaxed couple and seeing some amazing images from their big day. Thank you Bee and Darren for choosing Flutterbeeze.
"I contacted Kirsty as I'd seen her wedding invitations online and loved them all, I knew she'd be able to create the chilled vibe we were going for. The invitations, cake topper and thank you postcards were perfect and we've had so many of our guests commenting on how good they all were!!"
Thanks to Pink Daisy Weddings for the stunning image of Bee and Darren walking towards the cliffs on Porthtowan Beach. In the image of the invitations the names were changed as I had permission to show off the design but some guests were yet to receive theirs, so just incase they followed my page I changed the names and email address.
If you would like to enquire more about this design, then pop a message via the contact me button.
